Bishop makes awards
The Bishop of Derby, Alastair Redfern, presented his Bishop's Badge to 12 people at Derby Cathedral on Sunday October 5th
The awards are a token of distinguished service to the church and community.

The candidates come from all over the Diocese of Derby and represent a tremendous amount of work and dedication exhibited by individuals.

Recipients are:

  • William Bunting, Alsop-en-le-Dale
  • Timothy Clowes, Norbury
  • Clive Chipchase, Ashbourne St Oswald
  • Betty Barber, Littleover (Reader)
  • Evadne Robbins, Elvaston & Shardlow
  • Iris George, Spondon (Reader)
  • Norman Stanley, Marlpool (Reader)
  • Joy Wagg, Normanton-by-Derby
  • Margaret Price, Derby St Barnabas
  • Betty Chell, Winshill
  • Steve & Jo Richardson, Heage (work with young people)
  • Dan Leathers, Stapenhill (work with young people)

    Dr. Redfern said today: "I know that many people have invited family and friends to come along as well as fellow parishioners and I am really looking forward to the service.

  • The Oxford LLM Conference took place over the weekend (9th-11th June), attended by over 100 LLMs, the Bishop Andrew Proud of Reading (warden) and Phillip Tovey (deputy warden) among others.
