A truly inspirational conference
Father Nicholas King was truly inspirational and his obvious and infectious enthusiasm and love for the text, which he interpreted fluently on the fly directly from the Greek. He took us on a whistle stop tour of 1 Corinthians, Luke, Acts and John, highlighting the divisions which had developed and were developing between early Christians and the lessons to be drawn from the texts to help us all towards unity.
Bishop Robert had opened the conference by saying that Father Nicholas had come highly recommended. And he didn’t disappoint.
The whole event was further enhanced by the opportunity to meet with Readers from across the dioceses and the excellent venue and food; marred only slightly by the unfortunate shape and warmth/stuffiness of the conference room.
Everyone seems to have left, almost literally, singing the praises of the conference and looking forward to a repeat; something that very much depends on the messages we all pass back to our dioceses.
