Let's Celebrate
On Ascension Day 1866 the order of Readers was re-inaugurated, and in 2016 we'll be celebrating 150 years since that historic event.

The order of Readers was re-inaugurated to extend the effectiveness of the traditional parochial system to new pioneering work on the boundaries between church and world.

On Ascension Day,5 May 2016, the 150th Anniversary will be celebrated at a service of Holy Communion in All Souls Church, Langham Place, London and each diocese is invited to be represented.

On Saturday 16 July 2016 there'll be a celebration of Discipleship [venue still to be announced].

The Chair of the Central Readers Council has written to all dioceses to encourage them to participate in both events, and maybe to organise their own events.

Watch the Website and The Reader magazine for details, as they become available.
