7 new Readers admitted.

On Saturday Sept. 29th the Cathedral was awash with blue scarves. After an excellent morning Conference when The Rev’d Canon Steve Allen led on “Treasure in Clay Jars” the afternoon was a very joyous occasion. It being the triennial every Reader in the diocese who was able to be there was re-licensed for the next 3 years after 7 new Readers had been admitted and another welcomed from a different diocese by the Rt. Rev’d Colin Buchan who also preached.
The new Readers received their scarves from their parish priests and they are: ---
Jane Brocklehurst for St Helen's Waddington and St Catherine's West Bradford
John Corbin for St Wilfrid’s Calverley
Jacqueline Hird for All Saints Otley
Dawn Jenkins for St John the Divine Menston with Woodhead
Jean Nicholas for St Alkelda's Giggleswick
Elizabeth Reynolds (Lizzie) for St Mary the Blessed Virgin Burley in Wharfedale
Rodney Tickner for All Saints Keighley
Transferring from another diocese was Paul Titchmarsh for St Paul’s Shipley

The photograph has the 8 Readers with Bishop Colin, the Rev’d Chris Shedd (Warden to Readers), the Ven Paul Slater (Chair Reader Diocesan Reader Board) and the Rev’d Canon Steve Allen who organized the three year training for all Readers
