The Flowering of the Soul
THE FLOWERING OF THE SOUL
Edited by Lucinda VardeyA collection of almost 1000 prayers by more than 200 women from 13 different religions and many different cultures in a remarkable anthology.
Lucinda Vardey, a spiritual teacher and author who lives in Toronto and Tuscany, where she leads prayer retreats and pilgrimages, has collected almost 1000 prayers by more than 200 women from 13 different religions and many different cultures in this remarkable anthology. It is enhanced by a section containing biographical information about the contributors. From this the reader can discover that St Clare of Assisi was the first woman Franciscan and the founder of the Poor Clares, and that Aung San Suu Kyi was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize in 1991 for promoting democracy in Burma. This handbook would be a useful addition to parish and diocesan libraries and should be on the bookshelf of anyone leading retreats or training clergy or Readers.
