ROOTED IN GOD’S GRACE
Dwelling in the knowledge of God
Hannah FytchePersonal spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Bible study, silence, the enjoyment of nature and worship - using the writer's own experiences.
Fytche’s book is subtitled ‘dwelling in the knowledge of God’. It is essentially about the personal spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Bible study, silence, the enjoyment of nature and worship. Using an extensive use of stories, she seeks to explore how we can rediscover these and be renewed by them today. This is a very personal book - indeed, one of its weaknesses is that it is too personal, using the writer’s autobiographical illustrations a little too often. The section in each chapter called ‘Headphones time’ (the time to ‘zone out’ if you put on headphones) does have some excellent suggestions to help develop individuals, and possibly small groups, spiritually.
