Exploring the Life and Legacy of St Edmund of Abingdon

Will Donaldson

A consideration of the Beatitudes (Matthew 5. 3-10) in a refreshingly original way - ideal for individual or group study during Lent.

This informative booklet explores the life and legacy of St Edmund (1175-1222) who contributed much to the establishment of the University of Oxford. The author is Chaplain of St Edmund Hall, Oxford. St Edmund has an intriguing biography being a Canon at Salisbury as well as rector of Calne, and later Archbishop of Canterbury. The booklet uses the eight beatitudes in Matthew's Gospel as a framework to examine St Edmund's life. This is done to good effect. It is a booklet that Readers could use in small group studies. St Edmund was a man of God and the people.
